Smith Diving offers in-house First Aid/CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Medical emergency can happen in the lives of active people. Learn to be prepared to help in these situations. The CPR portion of this course provides both one and two person and management of obstructed airways for adults, children and infants. In addition an explanation and demonstration of Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) will show how modern medical technology helps save lives in the field. The First Aid training will explore the care needed in most common medical and trauma problems. A one hour session on dive related emergencies will be included in this course.
This course fulfills the First aid/CPR prerequisite for the NAUI Rescue Diver Certification.
This course is taught by a certified EMT/American Heart Assoc. Instructor and can be modified to provide certification for health care professionals.

The training for this course will include study, observation and skill practice in CPR/First aid topics including injury assessment, bleeding and wound management, head, neck and back injury, fracture management, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, seizures, bites and stings, and heat and cold emergencies.
