How did you become interested in diving?
I liked to watch Sea Hunt on TV - Lloyd Bridges (as Mike Nelson) was my hero!
Then, I took SCUBA Certification for College Phy.Ed. Class
Favorite Minnesota dive destination: Lake Minnetonka and Crosby Mines
Favorite foreign dive destination:Cozumel, Mexico
What do you look for in a good dive buddy?
A slow swimmer, who likes to LOOK at stuff; Someone who makes eye contact with ME throughout the dive, is patient when I need time to adjust/get situated and comfortable, notices when I’m cold; talks about what we saw after the dive and enjoys the dive itself - not just the statistic in the log book.
Words of advice for new or experienced divers?
Just dive and have fun. The more you dive, the more comfortable you’ll become underwater. Don’t get intimidated by more experienced divers and think that you’re less appreciated. We all started out as beginner divers - we SHOULD remember how we were when we started diving. And if we forget - shame on us.
