Lee is the owner of Smith Diving having purchased the shop from Terry Lovaasen in 2004. Lee was certified by Smith Diving in 1981 as a pre-requesite to marrying into his wife's family. Today there are 18 certified divers in the family (all certified by Smith Diving)!
Lee has been travelling to Cozumel for nearly 20 years and has more than 1400 lifetime dives including lots of exotic and local dive sites.
Lee's favorite dives include The shipwrecks of Isle Royale, Cozumel of course and the great shore diving of Bonaire. During most dives Lee can be seen "driving" his underwater video camera & housing. The dive videos you see playing in Smith Diving are examples of his work from past trips.
Lee & his wife Sheila have 4 children - Trisha, Sam, Andy and Izzy
